Following Jesus starts with a personal encounter with Jesus Christ and by choosing to follow him as Lord (giving him the leadership of your life). We believe that God wants a relationship with all of us and that through speaking to God (through prayer) and reading His word (the Bible) and the empowering of His Spirit we can know Him and He in turn can speak to us.

For some of us, we had been a part of the church community for a while as we explored what this was all about, and for others we encountered Jesus and then found a church community.

This journey starts with

Our need for God’s forgiveness.
The Bible says that we all need to be saved from the consequences of a lifestyle which is contrary to God’s laws. No one is righteous and without sin. Sin (the wrong things we have done) is the very thing that separates us from God, and we are all guilty of breaking God’s law in some way. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”.

Our hope is in Jesus Christ

Salvation does not come by keeping laws or being good, but only through faith in Jesus Christ (believing that Jesus alone can save us from the consequences of our sin). We have all sinned, but anyone who receives the grace of Jesus Christ can be forgiven and accepted by God as righteous. Romans 5:8 says “God demonstrated His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners Christ died for us.”

God’s forgiveness is available to ALL

God forgives and unconditionally accepts anyone who believes in Jesus Christ. There are no prerequisites to accept Jesus Christ into your life. The invitation is for everyone just as the Bible says in John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through Him.”
